RankReady: AI SEO & AEO Plugin for WordPress

# When ChatGPT answers a question your blog already covers, it should cite you.

Right now it probably doesn't. Your site has no llms.txt, no FAQ schema, no Markdown version of your posts, and no idea which AI bots are even reading it. That is what RankReady fixes. It is a WordPress plugin that adds the structured signals ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI look for before they pick a source.

Why AI ignores most WordPress sites

## You rank fine on Google. AI still skips you.

Four specific things AI assistants check before they cite a site. Most WordPress installs miss all four.

### There's no AI index of your site

You have a sitemap.xml that Google reads. You have nothing that ChatGPT reads. Without an llms.txt file, AI crawlers can't tell what your site is about. They go find someone who has one.

### Your content isn't shaped like an answer

Google AI Overviews and Perplexity pull their answers from posts that have FAQPage, HowTo, and Speakable schema baked in. If your posts don't, the bot just keeps scrolling.

### Your authors look anonymous

ChatGPT and Claude check who wrote a post before quoting it. Wikidata link, ORCID, LinkedIn, areas of expertise. If your Person schema is empty, you read as a stranger and strangers don't get cited.

### You can't see any of this happening

Which AI bots came by today? Which posts did they fetch? Is anyone actually citing you? Without a log, you're guessing. RankReady puts every AI bot hit and citation in a real table.

**RankReady handles all four from your WordPress dashboard.** You don't touch a server, a template, or a developer.

Why it matters now

### AI answers are already eating the click.

Roughly 4 in 10 searches now end inside an AI answer. Someone asks ChatGPT a question, gets a useful reply, closes the tab. No click ever lands on your site. Your analytics never even sees it.

The sites that get name-dropped inside those answers aren't smarter than yours. They just happen to ship four things: a clean content index for bots, the right kind of schema, real author credentials, and a way to watch which AI engines are reading them.

**That's what RankReady installs for you, in roughly five minutes.**

~40%
of searches end inside an AI answer, not on a website.

What's inside

## What RankReady actually adds to your site.

Four jobs, roughly in the order an AI bot does them. Finding your site, reading it, generating better content for it, and showing you who's reading what.

01 · How AI finds you

### Show up where the bots are actually looking.

The basics. If a crawler can't find or read your content properly, nothing else on this page matters. This is the foundation layer.

### LLMs.txt and LLMs-full.txt

Think of /llms.txt as a sitemap, but written for ChatGPT instead of Google. RankReady generates both files for you and keeps them current as you publish. You don't touch anything.

### A Markdown copy of every post

Add .md to any post URL and you get a clean Markdown version. That's the format AI agents actually want. No theme markup, no junk, no ads in the way of the content they're trying to read.

### 31 AI crawlers in one screen

Allow or block GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Bytespider, and 26 more individually. RankReady writes a real robots.txt to disk so your choices stick, even if a host plugin tries to override.

### Content Signals directives

The newer ai-train, search, and ai-input directives let you say "you can index me but please don't train on me" in a way the bots already understand. RankReady emits them for you per contentsignals.org.

### Unlimited snippet length

By default Google clips AI Overview snippets at 160 characters. RankReady adds max-snippet:-1 across your site so Google can quote a full paragraph if it wants. You can override per post.

### Plays nice with cache plugins

LiteSpeed, WP Rocket, W3TC, NitroPack, Perfmatters and six others get auto-bypass rules for the AI routes (/llms.txt, .md, /.well-known/mcp.json). Bots always see fresh content. Real visitors still get the cached page.

02 · How AI reads you

### Give the bots the shape of an answer.

Schema is how AI understands what a post actually is. RankReady picks the right one for each post automatically. You write normally, the plugin handles the markup.

### Article and Speakable schema

Every post gets Article JSON-LD with the Speakable sentences flagged separately. That's the bit voice assistants and AI quote from. Already running Rank Math, Yoast, or AIOSEO? RankReady merges into their graph instead of duplicating.

### FAQPage schema

This is the one Google AI Overviews and Perplexity reach for first when they're building an answer. Generate a FAQ on any post and RankReady wires the JSON-LD up for you.

### HowTo, automatic Free

Tutorials get HowTo schema without you marking anything up. RankReady looks for numbered headings or "Step 1, Step 2" patterns and writes the JSON-LD itself. Yoast charges for this. We don't.

### ItemList, automatic Free

"Top 10" style posts pick up ItemList schema the same way. RankReady counts your subheads and writes the markup. That's the schema Google AI uses to pull list-style answers.

### Author boxes that count

Bio, photo, title, topics, social links. Drop the block in Gutenberg or the widget in Elementor. Person schema goes out with it so the bots actually know who wrote the post and what they know about.

### Doesn't fight your SEO plugin

If Rank Math, Yoast, AIOSEO, SEOPress, The SEO Framework or Slim SEO is already running, RankReady joins their schema graph through the filters they already expose. No duplicate JSON-LD, no broken markup, no choosing sides.

03 · What AI will read

### Generate the bits AI actually quotes from.

You bring an API key. RankReady uses it to write FAQ blocks and summaries for your posts, all wrapped in the right schema. No monthly cap on either, on the free version.

### AI Summaries, unlimited Free

One click on any post writes a short "key takeaways" block at the top. It comes out wrapped in Speakable schema so AI knows exactly which sentences to quote. Run it on as many posts as you like.

### FAQ generation, unlimited Free

RankReady asks DataForSEO what real people search for around your topic, has your LLM answer those questions, and adds the result to your post with FAQPage schema attached. That's the block AI Overviews loves quoting.

### Use any of four LLMs

OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or DeepSeek. Paste one key in Settings and you're done. Switch any time. Your key never leaves your server. We never see it.

### Native Gutenberg block and Elementor widget

Drop the AI summary anywhere in your post. Pick where it sits, what label it shows, whether it's open by default. Elementor users get the same control in their sidebar.

### You see your spend, live

Settings shows what you've spent with each LLM provider this month, broken down by feature. RankReady also hashes every post you generate on, so you don't accidentally pay twice for the same one.

### Regenerate without leaving the editor

Updated a post? There's a regenerate button right in the meta box. No bulk job, no separate page, no waiting for cron.

OpenAI · GPT-4o, 4o-mini
Anthropic · Haiku, Sonnet, Opus
Google Gemini · 2.5 Flash, Pro
DeepSeek · V4 Flash, Pro

04 · What's actually working

### See which AI engines are reading you.

Every analytics view in RankReady is free. Without this data you'd be guessing whether any of this is working. With it, you can actually tell.

### Live AI crawler log

Every time an AI bot hits your site, you see it. Timestamp, page, bot name, what it was likely doing (looking for a citation, training, or indexing). GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and 27 more, sorted for you.

### Citation candidates

A leaderboard of your own posts that citation-style bots fetched in the last 30 days. Every row on this list is a moment where ChatGPT or Perplexity was probably building an answer that used your page. Honestly, this is the view you'll keep open.

### AI referral traffic

Counts visits coming in from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, claude.ai, gemini.google.com and copilot.microsoft.com. So you can stop wondering whether AI is sending you anyone and just look.

### Per-post readiness score

Every post gets a 0 to 100 score based on schema, freshness, content depth, and author signals. Click it and you get a small list of what's missing. Fix the obvious ones first.

### Content freshness

Three tabs. Fresh, going stale, stale. Posts older than two months without an update tend to quietly slip out of AI rotation. RankReady tells you which ones to refresh first.

### Agentic readiness scorecard

One percentage at the top of your dashboard that tells you how AI-ready your whole site is, broken down into 22 specific signals. Each signal has a fix attached. Don't optimise blind.

How citation actually works

## Three things happen before AI quotes you.

None of this is mysterious. Once you see the sequence, you can see exactly where your site is dropping out.

1

### The bot finds you

It reads your llms.txt to see what your site covers, then pulls the Markdown version of the post it cares about. Content Signals tell it what it can and can't do with the content.

2

### The bot decides you're worth quoting

Article and Speakable schema points at the sentences worth quoting. FAQPage and HowTo schema give it a clean answer to lift. Author schema tells it whether the person who wrote this is someone it should trust.

3

### The bot cites you

Someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI a question in your niche. The bot composes an answer using the sources it scored highest on steps 1 and 2. Your URL ends up in the citation list.

Tested against the standard checkers

## Two public tools grade AI readiness. RankReady tops both.

IsItAgentReady and AcceptMarkdown are the public benchmarks the community uses to grade an AI-ready site. RankReady is built to pass everything they check for, automatically.

isitagentready.com

### Is It Agent Ready?

A public validator. Paste your domain, it tells you what AI agents are looking for and what you're missing.

POSIMYTH Innovation × Aditya Sharma
Built by the team running 500,000+ active WordPress sites

> **"We started building RankReady the week ChatGPT recommended a competitor instead of one of our own sites."** That moment made it clear. The AI search shift was already happening, and no WordPress plugin was treating it seriously.

POSIMYTH has been shipping WordPress products for nine years. Half a million sites run on our stuff today. We don't build marketing dashboards or analytics tools. We build the things WordPress site owners actually keep asking for. Aditya runs growth across the team and noticed, log by log, that AI bots were quietly replacing real visitor traffic. RankReady is what we wished existed.

FAQ

## Real questions, plain answers.

If something here doesn't answer it, email [support@posimyth.com](mailto:support@posimyth.com). We reply the same day.

So what does RankReady actually do?
It adds the things AI assistants are looking at when they decide whose link to drop in an answer. In practical terms: generates /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt, serves a Markdown version of every post at /post.md, writes FAQPage, Speakable, HowTo and ItemList schema for you, adds proper author signals, gives you control over 31 named AI crawlers, and shows you a live log of who's reading what.

Do I need an OpenAI API key?
Only if you want to generate AI summaries or FAQ blocks. The rest of the plugin runs without any key at all. llms.txt, schema, Markdown endpoints, crawler rules, the analytics dashboard, all free, no key needed. You can get cited by AI without ever pasting a key in.

Why is generation unlimited on the free version?
Because you're paying OpenAI or Anthropic directly. Your key, your costs, your quota. We've got no reason to put an artificial cap on top. Most plugins cap their free tier at 5 generations a month. We don't. Run it on as many posts as you want.

Will this fight with Rank Math, Yoast, or AIOSEO?
No. RankReady checks which SEO plugin you're running and merges into its schema graph using its own filters. You won't get duplicate JSON-LD. It works alongside Rank Math, Yoast, AIOSEO, SEOPress, The SEO Framework, and Slim SEO. You're not replacing your SEO plugin, you're adding the AI layer it doesn't cover.

What will the LLM actually cost me?
Less than a coffee a month for most blogs. An AI summary on a 1,500-word post is about half a cent on GPT-4o-mini. A FAQ block with 5 questions is 2 to 4 cents. Anthropic Haiku and DeepSeek are even cheaper. RankReady also hashes every post you've already generated on, so you don't accidentally pay twice for the same content.

What data goes back to POSIMYTH?
**None.** Zero telemetry. Your content, your keys, your crawler logs, none of it leaves your server. The only outbound calls are to the LLM providers you connected yourself (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek) and to DataForSEO if you use the FAQ question-finder. We never see what you put in.

Is it safe to run on a live site?
Yes. We've been running it on our own production sites since v0.5. Activating it doesn't change your content. Uninstalling preserves your data by default. Every database write uses prepared statements, every option is properly namespaced, every output gets escaped.

Will it work with my page builder?
Yes, all of them. Gutenberg, Elementor, Bricks, Oxygen, Divi, Breakdance, Beaver Builder. RankReady hooks into template_redirect at priority 1 so builder routes don't block the AI endpoints. Posts and Pages are covered today. Support for custom post types is on the way.

## Stop watching ChatGPT cite your competitors.

Your blog already answers the questions people are asking AI. RankReady is what tells the bots so.
